This ultra-modern super sports car from Mercedes-Benz was presented to the public at the IAA in autumn 2009. In addition to its spectacular design it has striking gullwing doors. It is a reminder not only of the shape of the legendary 300 SLR and 300 SL from the 1950s.

The initials SLS stand for "Sport Light Super". The bodywork of this vehicle that was initially developed independently by AMG, is made of aluminium, the hallmark of the low 1600 kg weight of this car. The 8-cylinder engine with a capacity of 6.3 litres delivers 571 bhp and accelerates from 0 to 100 in 3.8 seconds; top speed 317 km/h.
